NewsletterExpressions of Assurance
a newsletter of Women for Life, Inc. The following are highlights from our Winter 2007 edition. If you did not receive your copy in the mail, please call us at 859-278-8469 and we'll be happy to send one to you. Love Walk At the heart of every Love Walk is the special people who take time to secure sponsors and participate in the walk. This past October, 143 sponsored walkers raised nearly $56,000 in sponsorships and in-kind donations. It is through the continued support of all our walkers and business sponsors that our oldest fundraising tradition, the Love Walk, is still alive and well! Blessed are the Technical That would be our addition to the beatitudes if Jesus asked us for one. Over the past four years, we have labored to put together our increasingly important Web outreach. In 2007, we launched two new Web sites. The first is our supporter/volunteer site www.women4life.org. We are grateful to Vijay Sake of Unovoid for his technical expertise in bringing this vision to reality. The second is our client-focused site www.assurancecare.org, which is maintained by Cool Coyotes, a contractor through Care Net's Client Solutions. Our post-abortion outreach site www.assurancereknew.com is also a part of this project. What Would You Pay to Save a Life? Would you pay $10,000 for a surgery to save a life? If we told you the work of Assurance could save a baby's life for thousands less than that, would you consider that a bargain? What is a child's life worth to you? The good news is in 2007, we calculated that it costs this ministry approximately $2700 for each baby saved from abortion. Even better news is that with a modest increase in our advertising budget, we can safely expect to improve the ratio of dollars spent to lives saved. Will you help increase the possibilities of saving more babies, and their mothers, from abortion's devastation? Your tax-deductible gift enables this ministry to continue loving women in need and saving lives. Reconciled We have a new author, associated with our ministry, who has written a timely and profound story worth reading. "Reconciled" demonstrates the hardships that lead women to have abortions, the incredible suffering they endure afterward and the healing and freedom that only Christ can bring! To learn more or read an excerpt go to www.reconciled-thenovel.com This book can be a tool for outreach, education and healing and we strongly promote it. Get your own copy, read it and pass it along! You can find it by going online to Xulon Press, Amazon or other online book retailers. We also have books available at our Center for a suggested donation of $10 each.Volunteers A new volunteer class has graduated through the Care Net training course and they are now completing "on the job" training at Assurance. The Lord continues to send us wonderfully talented and qualified women to serve this ministry. If you feel called to join us in a volunteer capacity, please call and speak with Mo at 859-278-8469. ReKnew The ReKnew post-abortion ministry is underway and ministered to three groups in 2007, helping at least 15 women find peace and joy in Christ. If you know someone who is ready to find the health and healing that only Jesus can bring after an abortion, please refer them to us. More information about ReKnew can be found online at www.assurancereknew.com or by calling us at 859-278-8469. The Gates In November, we opened a small, satellite office directly across the street from one of the abortion clinics in Lexington. The gentlemen of Thermal Balance opened their hearts, and their doors, offering us space that puts us right where the need is greatest! Please pray for this challenging and worthy outreach. Abstinence and Character Education Heritage Kentucky, under the leadership of Greg Williams, is reaching thousands of students each year with solid, helpful education to make the decision to save sex for marriage. Heritage has been evaluated by Calvin Edwards, a contractor of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, as one of the best in programs and overall soundness of the ministry. Learn more at www.heritageofky.org. The next edition of our newsletter will be distributed Spring 2008.
